Single Sessions

“That I May Know Him”

In Galatians 1 we find Paul defending his authority as an apostle.  To support his claim, he brings out his biography.  We take a closer look at this committed man of grace and grit and find a poignant truth: “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection,” is the one thing that took place above everything else in his life. When God calls us to salvation there is a call to service at the same time, but this single session teaches us that effective service is the result of intimacy with Jesus Christ.

One Slice at a Time

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”  If we’re going to make some changes in how we live our lives as believers, followers, disciples of our Savior … if indeed the “old has passed away”, how then do we live out our “new creation”? The answer is found in Romans 12.

Humility or Pride?

In 2 Corinthians 11, we find Paul defending his credentials, his authority, and his teachings.  He’s having to compare himself to the false apostles in Corinth and showing his superiority to them.  They are messengers of Satan.  They’re deceivers and liars. He is forced into boasting but never to the point of sacrificing his true humility. In this single-session we learn that Paul’s commitment was based on his grateful heart.  The measure of our gratefulness is expressed by our commitment to His cause over and above all else in our lives.

Things Change

In Acts 15 Paul and Barnabas had finished their first missionary journey and no doubt were still caught up in the excitement of it all. Together they traveled and established numerous churches and were well known throughout Asia Minor. They were powerful together, on a good run with plenty to do. Excited to embark on their second mission trip an unexpected conflict arises. Sometimes, things change. In this single-session study we learn from God’s Word that we’re not planning the journey. He is. And we never know the end at the beginning. The best way to travel is one day at a time, with Him.

A Lady of Grace

An inspirational message of the power of transformation in the life of one woman who wandered away from trusting in God. My personal story of the path to restoration and how grace; God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense is free to every heart that surrenders. It all starts with connection. Connection to the triune God, connection to His Word and connection to His people. Because no man or woman is meant to live life alone.

Written specifically as an encouraging keynote address for a women’s event.
